Dr. Cory M. Oldham was born and raised in west Texas, but calls Arkansas his home. He attended high school at Bentonville High and went on to college at the University of Arkansas. While at Arkansas, Dr. Oldham excelled as a Track & Field Athlete for the Razorbacks. He participated in the high jump, which led him to his first experience with chiropractic care.

"I fought daily back pain during my freshman year of college, which ultimately became a medical red-shirt year due to my back problems. I had weeks where I would just lay in bed and not even go to class because of the agonizing pain. I tried every pill I could get my hands on for the pain. I didn't realize the benefit of chiropractic until I met one of the team doctors for the Razorbacks who said he could help me." Dr. Steve Whitelaw treated Oldham for a host of conditions with his spine and Oldham was soon back out on the track. "I owe a lot to Drs. Steve Whitelaw and Eric Walker. They showed me the true value of chiropractic. They changed my life."

They changed his life so much so that he altered his career track from an aspiring orthopedic surgeon to a doctor of chiropractic. He now lives in Fayetteville and has started a practice with his partner, Dr Shayla M. Swanson, to provide the community of Fayetteville with the kind of care he received as a college athlete.

His areas of interest include working with postural rehabilitation, sports medicine, and nutritional counseling.

Dr. Shayla M. Swanson does not remember her first adjustment; she was only a few hours old. Dr. Swanson grew up with mindset that chiropractic was just a way of life, and for her it was. Her father is a chiropractor. Dr. Swanson grew up in southern Kansas and learned the value of chiropractic through her father, Dr. Brad Swanson. "My father has treated me my entire life. I don't know what I would have done without chiropractic care." Throughout her childhood years, she developed scoliosis, but her father helped to minimize the damage. In Dr. Swanson's household, chiropractic is used to treat everything from Migraines to the common cold and ear infections. The belief is to allow the body to take the time and heal itself.

Dr. Swanson graduated cum laude from Parker College of Chiropractic. "I know too well the value of chiropractic and could not pass up the opportunity to give others what has been given to me." The legacy has also spread to her older brother, Dr. Douglas Swanson, who is also a chiropractor and practices with their father in Winfield, Kansas.

Dr. Swanson has recently moved to Northwest Arkansas and is excited about the opportunity to share with others her vision of chiropractic. Her specialties include working with postural rehabilitation, pregnancy and pediatrics, acupuncture, and nutritional counseling.

Dr. Swanson is certified in Webster's Technique and is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).
